| President:  Linda Armstrong Linda is an Administrative Assistant at the University of Connecticut in the Department of Physiology and Neurobiology. She has worked for the State of Connecticut for 25 years. She has been President of the Local since 1984, and served as Secretary to the local before that. She is also a Vice-President for AFSCME Council 4, the CT AFL-CIO and the Northeast Connecticut Labor Council. Linda serves as Chair of the CT AFL-CIO Education Committee, in addition to being involved in numerous other union organizations and committees. Linda has a son, Daniel, who is 4 years old. She enjoys spending free time with her family, in addition to enjoying traveling, music, and home remodeling and decorating. | Vice-President:  Carol Millette Carol is an Administrative Assistant at the University of Connecticut in the Women's Center. She has worked for the State of Connecticut for over 20 years. She has been a steward since 1990 and served as Trustee before being elected as Vice-President. She is a part-time student at Eastern Connecticut State University pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Carol enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, and yoga. | Treasurer:  Julie E. Lerman-Bouchard Julie has worked at the University of Connecticut for 24 years, and is currently a Secretary in the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Julie served as Vice President for the local from 1999 - 2003 and as a Trustee from 1991 to 1999. Julie has been a steward since 1991. Julie enjoys traveling with her husband Wes, cooking and gardening. | Secretary:  David Mariasi David has been working for the State of Connecticut for 14 years and has worked at various State Agencies. He first worked for the Department of Administrative Services as an offset pressman for 7 years and was actively involved in the Connecticut Employees Union Independent. He then became an Office Assistant for the Department of Public Health in 1998 and was appointed Steward for AFSCME Local 704 in 2001. David left the Department of Public Health in 2002 and took a position as Unit Supervisor at the Registrar's Office at Eastern Connecticut State University. Soon after David was appointed as a Steward for AFSCME Local 355 and was also elected as a Delegate to Council 4. In 2004 David was elected to the position of Secretary. David has a wife Lace, and three young sons who keep him busy. David also enjoys playing the drums in a children's rock band called "The Farmer Rick Band". David has an Associates Degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and is a part time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies. Joan Butler Joan has been working for the State of Connecticut for over 23 years and has been employed in a variety of clerical position within various agencies throughout the State. She is currently employed as a Secretary II in the Center for Business & Technologies at Manchester Community College. Joan has been a steward for 1 year and currently serves as a Trustee. Joan is committed to life long learning and continuing education and has a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Connecticut State University in Business Administration. Ada Elderkin Ada is an Administrative Assistant in the Dean of Students Office at the University of Connecticut. She has worked at UConn for over sixteen years. Ada has been a Union Steward for fourteen years and also serves as a Trustee. She enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren and RV'ing during the summer with her husband Ed. Grace Scollo Grace is an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Dean of Student at Manchester Community College. She has been a steward for 7 years and currently serves as a Trustee. She is a part-time student at Manchester Community College pursuing a degree in Culinary Arts. Tom Sellas Effective December 2006, our Service Representative is Tom Sellas, who works out of the Council 4 Office in New Britain. Tom retired from the Corrections Department in 2002 after 22 years with DOC. He came to Council 4 in October of 2002, and started representing the NP3 bargaining unit in March of 2004. While Tom is new to our local he has been involved in the clerical bargaining unit for a few years. Tom may be contacted at Council 4's main # (224-4000). Jeff Scanlon.
