Save the CT Labor Department

The Malloy administration and the Connecticut Department of Labor announced plans Aug. 5 to lay off 95 front line workers (12% of the agency workforce) and close regional offices in Enfield, Meriden, New Britain, Norwich, Torrington and Willimantic, and the unemployment call center in Hamden (one of two in the state).

The layoffs and office closures are scheduled to go into effect Oct. 1, 2015.

The CT DOL provides services that directly benefit into the Connecticut economy.

Closing offices, slashing services and laying off workers is not the answer.
