The Connecticut AFL-CIO's 10th Biennial Political Convention takes place June 16-17 at the Omni Hotel in New Haven.
AFSCME International President Lee Saunders will deliver the keynote address on June 16 at 1:15 p.m.
Delegates to the state labor federation's biennial convention will have the opportunity to vote on candidates recommended for endorsement. .
Also speaking on June 16 is Wisconsin AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Stephanie Bloomingdale, who will talk how about what's happened to Wisconsin's economy and communities since Gov. Scott Walker pushed through Act 10, which decimated collective bargaining rights for public workers.
Also that day, the endorsed candidates for Gov. and Lt. Gov. (Democrats Dannel Malloy and Nancy Wyman; and Republicans Tom Foley and Penny Bacchiochi) will address the convention.
Delegates representing unions around the state are invited to attend and provided a unique opportunity to strengthen the voice of the Connecticut labor movement
